NHRA Competition Eliminator racer Glenn Treadwell is known for his not so ordinary combinations by traditionally racing inline six cylinder engines. Glenn currently holds the NHRA G/ED elapsed time national record at 7.86 which is a stout -.690 under the class index. Not bad for a N/A 254 C.I.D. engine (don't try this at home). The MPH record for this class is held by another Star Machine customer Jerry Arnold. Glenn also holds the MPH record for F/EA and his daughter Jenny currently holds the E/ED E.T. and MPH records set while using a ten year old Star Machine vacuum pump which has yet to be rebuilt.
Although a perennial top ten finisher and five time Division 2 Comp champion, his most amazing accomplishment is his three U.S. Nationals wins. With wins at Indy in 1995 and back to back in 2005 & 2006, he is the only racer to win Competition Eliminator at Indy three times. What could be more impressive?
Consider he did it with three different engine combinations; once with a V/8, an inline Ford and a 4-valve inline Chevy, all of which he built himself.
Glenn's success extends well beyond drag racing. Engine customers running out of his G.T. Automotive engine shop have won numerous titles in the truck & tractor pull associations.
As Star Machine's very first vacuum pump customer in 1998, Glenn has helped promote and pioneer our success in the racing industry. We are very fortunate to have the Treadwells not only as a customer, but foremost as a friend.
We also want to take this opportunity to congratulate Star Machine customer Mike Edwards and his Younglife team for their first NHRA Pro Stock National Championship.
Godspeed in 2010!
